My Full-Time Mission Is Complete
Wow wow wow wow, I can’t collect my thoughts right now...
But like the subject line says, this week my full-time mission is finished. It’s super bitter sweet and still don’t know how to feel. Part of me feels like I’m never going home and that tomorrow is just the beginning of a new transfer but the other half of me has accepted the fact of me going home.
To fill you in on my last full week;
Monday I got the chance to work up on Durant, OK one last time. I loved my time in Durant and it was great to work one last time there!
Tuesday at district meeting we held my “funeral”! We also had a sweet miracle with a guy named Troy! We’ve been teaching him for a couple weeks now and he recently moved. Our last appointment with him he gave us his address to his new place and when we went to his new address it was the wrong address. We called Troy over and over again but he wasn’t answering. So we decided to pray that we’d receive a miracle and somehow find Troy's new house. Within FIVE MINUTES of us praying we saw Troy cruising down the street on his motorcycle!!! So we freaked out and followed him until we could wave him down. We were able to teach him that night!
Wednesday we finally got all the walls up on Sean’s shed
Thursday we mowed 4 lawns, 3 investigators and 1 members. It was disgustingly humid.
Friday our friend Kerry, the guy who got baptized in a prison shower trash can, called us completely drunk. He wanted to get us pizza, bless his heart.
Saturday we had another quick miracle. Ed is a guy who 4 months ago was approved by the first presidency to be baptized. Then all of a sudden Ed fell off the face of the earth. He lives 45 minutes away from us and we don’t have the miles to just stop by. So we’ve done everything we can to get ahold of him but nothings ever worked. We asked a member if he’d like to do a “stop by” (meaning that we weren’t sure if he’d be home or not) and the member was a little reluctant at first but then a warm feeling came over him and he agreed to take us. We got to his house and sure enough he was there!!! We had a great 15 minute talk with him and we re-committed him to be baptized later this month.
I’ll try not to keep this too long but I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity these past 3 years to be a missionary. The beginning started out a bit rough, and when I came back the first few weeks were even rougher but I am so grateful that I’ve had 2 wise mission presidents who helped me stick to this and serve with all I got. I am grateful for all 8 areas I served and all 14 companions I had. I’ve learned so much from all of them! I am grateful for all the wonderful Texans and Oklahomians that I got to teach! I HAVE SERVED IN THE BEST MISSION IN THE WHOLE WORLD. There is no other place I would have rather spent 24 months than in Texas Dallas. Above all I am grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ. I can promise that I would not have gotten to know him like I do now if I would have chosen not to serve. I know my life would be in a complete different direction without this knowledge. I testify that he is Lord of Lords, & King of Kings. He lives, He loves, He heals, and He will be returning. I testify that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His kingdom once again established on the earth! Joseph Smith is the Lords Prophet who ushered in the restoration of the fullness of times and President Russel M. Nelson is the Lords Prophet on the earth today.
Having served in the Bible Belt I can assure you I’ve heard every bit of anti, doubt, “problems”, opinion, etc, about the Church that's been thought of. I stand as a witness that any and all concerns one has with the church can be solved by a sincere, open, heart felt study of the Book of Mormon. I promise that if you study the Book of Mormon like that the spirit of the Lord will testify to you of its authenticity. I can honesty care less what “preacher Joe” down the street has to say about this church and the BOM because I’ve received witness after witness from God that this is all true! Any seeker of truth can receive that same witness.
I’ve loved my mission. This work is true.
I can’t wait to see everyone!
