Awesome Experiences!
This week was insane, and full of awesome experiences!
First off we had Sister Dew! She's the CEO of Deseret Book, and most
notability the Autobiography of Gordon B. Hinkley! It was such a great
time, she taught us a whole lot more than I could have thought! She
totally spoke my language. She talked about how having questions about
the gospel is a good thing because it allows us to grow. Questions
lead to revelation. She also talked a whole lot about how you really
have to wrestle with your questions. It's worth wrestling with your
questions to receive personal revelation. It was pretty cool to hear
her talk about a sport I love! Point of her talk was things that are
worth having in life take a lot of "wrestling" for them! She took some
time afterwards to answer questions about life. She had a lot of
advice that prophets said directly to her!
Anyways that's just a small portion of what I learned from her. Later
that day we were having a new member lesson with our recent convert.
The lesson was on the plan of salvation and it got real deep, real
quick. Our recent convert is real interested in family history and had
questions about doing their ordinances for his family that has passed.
The second he asked about doing their ordinances I had a thought pop
up in my head along the lines of to tell him that he has family and
even friends on the other side that are so excited that he had the
faith to be baptized and accept this gospel because those on the other
side are 1 step closer to having their work done because our recent
convert will be the one finding their names!
I doubted the thought and kept it to myself besides the impression
not leaving. We ended the lesson and left the house. On the way back
to our apartment I told my companions about what I had thought and
they both agreed that, that would have been perfect to say. It may not
have been a make or break lesson, but I'm still gonna be kicking
myself for a week haha. I guess I have a whole lot more to l learn
about spiritual promptings and being bold!
Anyways that's just a small portion of some things that have happened
this week, good week all in all!
I hope y'all have a great week! Love and miss you!
