Back at it again!
Howdy from Dallas!
Sorry I didn't email last week, not much went on in the first 3 days
but I'll cover that now.
So the first 3 days me and another elder that came back to the mission
were with the assistants. I had no idea but Elder Toone (went to high
school with/trained by the same Trainer) is an AP, so it was nice
being able to see him again and be on splits for the first couple
days.
Last Monday I met my new companions, elder Thomas from Weiser Idaho
and Elder Chancellor from Parker Colorado. We cover the
Carrollton/Plano area! Which is right next to Dallas, and pretty close
to where I served last year, Allen!
The area is doing pretty good, we actually had a baptism this week!
His names Lyle and his mom investigated the church when he was younger
but stopped investigating. 10 years later he saw missionaries leaving
his work and he walked right up to them and started talking and asked
for lessons! Super great faith!
Last week when we were at Walmart a guy walked up to us and asked if
we were missionaries, we said yes and offered a card with a picture of
Jesus on it. He took the picture, looked at it and asked, "that's
Jesus? That's what Jesus looks like?" We explained that it's honestly
just a guess but he proceeded to tell us that Jesus was definitely
black and that we were ideologist! Hahah I've missed Texas.
Nothing too crazy has happened this week we've been so busy with ward
and training stuff we haven't had much time to tract for a while. But
we are doing this tracking method called "message from heaven". What
you do is have an elder go to the floor above you at an apartment
complex and you stand below. You know the door and say "hi I'm elder
so&so and I have a message from heaven" and when you say that the
elder above you drops a Book of Mormon and you catch it! Everyone gets
a laugh outta it and we've gotten a couple investigators doing it!
Anyways I hope everyone has a great week! I love reading your emails
throughout the week, they make my day! Love y'all!
