Hello friends and family :)
Nothing too big happened this week so I’ll keep it short!
We had our zone conference this past Tuesday and it was so good! Some Sister missionaries had a really good training about the difference between sin and weakness. For the longest time I had always kinda combined the two and considered my weakeness’ sin but I learned its not a sin to have weakness’! Heck, even christ has mortal weakness’. Here’s a link to a great article about that if you want to learn more;
Afterwards we had the opportunity to go on exchanges with the Frisco/Little Elm Elders. I went with Elder Coca who’s a fairly new district leader. We had a lot of fun, and got a lot of work done :D One of the cooler things that happened is we were about to end the exchange and meet back up with the other Elders but we felt we needed to visit at least 1 more person. So we checked our area book and saw a former investigator that was near by. We knocked the door and a 17 year old girl named Asheria answered the door. She told us the person we had gone there for didn’t live there anymore so we asked her if we could share a quick message with her and she agreed. We explained a little about us and then told her about The Book of Mormon. We bore testimony of it and offered one to her. She accepted it and said “This sounds crazy but literally right before you knocked on the door I was praying. I asked God how I can live a better life and improve.” Elder Coca and I did everything we could to keep our jaws from dropping and finished the door contact with a promise that the answer to that prayer was the Book of Mormon.
To wrap this up Elder Laris & I were asked to speak in sacrament meeting. I was assigned to speak on Chapter 5 of “Preach My Gospel”. The chapter is “What is the role of the Book of Mormon?”. It’s a personal favorite of mine because it helps people understand WHY we not only use the Bible but also the BOM. If you haven’t read that chapter ever I highly suggest you do so. You don’t need to be a missionary to read PMG!
Love you all! Thank you for the support! This past week hit me pretty hard. I can now count how many months I have left on 1 hand. Holy cow. 5 months to go, I’ll do my best not to get trunky :D Hope to hear from y’all soon!
