Wow Wow Wow

Hello friends and family!!!

Okay so not much time to email today cause we have to drive to Frisco, TX BUT here's the highlight of the week.

1) We knocked into a lady named Cleta. She grew up in the RLDS church but has not gone in a long long time. She has a testimony of the book of mormon and Joseph Smith! She didn't know the difference between the LDS and the RLDS church so we helped clarify some things. We told her  a LDS congregation was right down the road from her and she seemed excited to get back into a church that believes in the same things she was raised with! She had tried baptist, pentecostal, JW, etc but nothing felt right. So we're gonna teach her and help her understand how the prophet is called in our church. Because really that's the big thing that separates RLDS from LDS. Pretty sure at least haha.
2) we found a lady named Lisa! she grew up in Arizona and went to church alll the time over there. She recently moved to Durant and had no idea that there was a Ward here! So we exchanged information! We asked how she liked going to church in Arizona and she replied, "Oh, I loved it!". The Lord is preparing so many people here!

So now some big news. the mission got smart phones!!! bye bye to the old crappy qwerty keyboard! The church even trusted us with data hahah! I've only had it for a couple days but my lanta the Lord is hastening the work!

Spiritual Thought:

This week Elder Taylor and I have been studying prophets and the rest of the church organization. People out here believe that there are NO need for prophets. they believe that they are done away with, gone forever. So naturally when we share with them the first vision, or tell them we have a prophet today, they instantly question everything haha. But we came across this verse in Ephesians 4:11-14 that we have all read before but didn't "click" until yesterday.
it reads;

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie inwait to deceive;
Now whats interesting is this. Verse 11 explains the offices that were in Christ's ancient and modern church. Verse 12 explains why we have those offices. Verse 13 then explains how long those offices will be needed on the earth. key phrase in that sentence is "Till we all come in the unity of the faith".
So right there in the bible it explains that we need prophets, apostles, and other officers to keep the church clean from false doctrine and to help us "unify in the faith"! then verse 14 says that Christ's true church isn't tossed to andfro with every wind of doctrine as some other churches are.
I hope that made as much sense to you as it did to me. if not, just trust me that the church is true. The leaders, male and female, are each called of God and live worthy of our trust. Trust them, trust God, and keep reading your scriptures. Have a great week everybody!
