Weekly Upd8!

Sorry for not sending out an email last week! sometimes nothing exciting happens so I cant think of any fun stories!
So first and foremost our investigator Tre accepted to be baptized on February 14th!!! we're so excited for him to be taking this important, and critical step in his life! He's made a ton of friends at church and enjoys coming to get that "spiritual boost" for the week.
So the saying is if you want fun stories to send home, go tracting...I cant begin to tell you how true that statement is, lol. This week we're planning on doing a lotta tracting in order to increase our teaching pool. I honestly like tracting, I'll do it but you gotta learn when to walk away from situations...case and point; we had nothing to do Friday night from 7:30-9 so we drove until we found a road that looked good to tract on. we parked and started knocking doors. we get to this older ladies house and knock, she answers, and we do the whole "We're your missionaries..." thing and she was very quick to tell us she does not agree with what we believe and she doesn't want to hear any more of what we had to say. but she yelled for her husband to come to the door. I don't know why we didn't just walk away after she said she wasn't interested but we waited at the door for her husband to come. sure enough he was a southern Baptist chaplain and was very quick to point out everything we believed in was wrong. at one point he even called us brainwashed, which nearly made me explode. I've never lost my cool with someone preaching Anti to us, but this was the closest I've ever gotten. I was really not in the mood that night to be yelled at. Moral of the story is in the scriptures we're taught that the spirit of contention is of the devil. In those situations there is no point in fighting scripture with scripture because the spirit is gone, and we all know the spirit is the real teacher. its role is to testify truth. without it missionary work could never be accomplished! that's why its so important to always remain worthy to have it and to be guided by it. The spirit can warn us of danger and help us make decisions in everyday life. as members we're promised to always have it with us as long as we're making good choices, so my invitation is to do what  john 17:19 advises and sanctify yourself to be worthy of having the Holy Ghost with you at all times! :)
I promise that life with the Holy Ghost is a whole lot better than life without!
Anyways i hope y'all have a great week, love you!
