I Met An Apostle?!?!?!?
HEY family and friends!!!
This has been an exciting week here in the TDM. We had interviews with
President Taylor this week and it went great. We talked about D&C 18.
Is says in there;
10. Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;
11. For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh;
wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent
and come unto him.
12. And he hath risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men
unto him, on conditions of repentance.
13. And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!
My favorite part in there is verse 13. Heavenly Father is pleased and
is full of joy when we repent, how cool is that?! The cooler thing is
it can also apply to the "soul" that is repenting! When we repent we
have Joy! So both us and Heavenly Father are full of joy when we
repent! Kinda cool, I've never looked at that scripture like that
before haha.
I'm a scrub and forgot to mention these past weeks that Elder Anderson
of the quorum of the 12 Apostles was coming to the mission :) He and
President Taylor are really good friends. I've lived in Utah my entire
life and I've never met an Apostle! So it was the coolest thing ever
to see him in real life rather than on TV during conference! I even
shook his hand and talked briefly!😱 The spirit was super strong in
the meeting. He talked a ton about missionary work, teaching
repentance, and baptizing converts. He was surprisingly a funny guy,
always cracking jokes! It was cool to see that. even though he's an
Apostle he's just a normal guy, you don't get to see that side of them
during conference. Anyways the thing he challenged us to do was find
10 scriptures in the Book of Mormon and the New Testament that you
really believe (and the Old Testament if you're an over achiever haha)
and memorize them! But take it a step further, don't just memorize
them, engrave them into your soul. Let those scriptures shape your
life and your being. He promised if we do so we'll feel closer to the
savior. So for now on I'll update y'all on the scriptures I find to
memorize! Make this personal, I challenge each and every one of you to
do this and see if it doesn't bring you closer to the savior!
That's all I got this week, we're gonna be tracting a ton this week so
I'm sure something fun will happen, always does haha! Hope y'all have
