Answered Prayers
Howdy!
It's been a pretty great week down here in Texas/Oklahoma!
So I survived transfers, Elder Haddock got sent to Irving, Texas which
is basically Dallas and my new comp is Elder Jones from Ammon Idaho!
He's been out for 10 months.
So I guess nothing too crazy happened this week, the biggest miracle
is we went and visited a family a couple members in the ward had
referred. Ironically their names are the Parras(Paris) family lol.
They are the driest Mormons you'll ever meet. Those are their words
not mine lol. Anyways they're super ready for the gospel but the guy,
Frank, had only 2 problems with the church;
1) the way some people portray Joseph Smith and make him sound as holy
as Christ
2) in gospel principles a couple years back a member made an
inappropriate comment about what happens after this life haha
So this last week we were able to answer more clearly his questions
and they told us they'd come to church. Sure enough they did and spent
45 minutes after church talking to a bunch of members! It was also one
of the most spiritual sacrament meetings I've ever attended. It was
perfect for them and we're looking forward to seeing them on
Wednesday!
To wrap this email up I'd like to include an experience I had the
other day. So ever since last Tuesday I have just been exhausted. And
no matter how early I seem to try to get to bed every time the middle
of the day hits around 2 or 2:30 I start to feel super sleepy and
drowsy. Well last Saturday I was sick of feeling that way in the
middle of the day so that morning in my prayers I literally pleaded
with Heavenly Father to give me an energy boost during that part of
the day to keep me working hard. Well later that day 2 o'clock hits
and I'm starting to feel a little drowsy again. We stop at an
investigators house to find out from her friend that she wasn't home
because she was getting a new tattoo. We get back to the car and I
opened the back door to put backpack in the back seat but I stood
there for a couple seconds looking at my iPad deciding where to head
next. Right as I put my iPad in my backpack I felt a pinch on the back
of my leg which hurt, but i didn't think much of it. Well I hop into
the driver seat, turn on the car and all of a sudden my leg was on
fire getting bit left and right. I look down at my feet and I have
HUNDREDS of ants crawling all around my feet! I had stood in an ant
pile on accident while looking at my iPad and was now feeling the
consequences! I literally jumped outta the car and threw my shoes off
to start killing these stupid things. After about 10 minutes I had
cleared my legs, socks, and shoes clear of ants and hopped back into
the car. As I drove away I was super salty cause it was a slow day and
I in no way thought I deserved that but I then quickly realized that
after the ant attack I wasn't tired anymore...it was an answer to a
prayer! The second I connected the dots I started laughing and wasn't
even mad anymore. The lesson you should get outta this is God hears
and answers our prayers but it's always on His time and he'll usually
answer you in a way you don't expect! In my case it was being attacked
by ants to keep me awake!
Anyways hope you all have a great week!
