Lessons Learned

Howdy Ya'll!
Haha kidding, but something I've learned is that the Texas stereotype is so not true! At least where I am at right now, here in Allen. But from what I've heard it's east Texas where you'll really get that stereotype of everyone talking like hicks. Haha I wanna go there so bad! I got 23 months left so I have plenty of time ;)
So to continue off last week. We met with Sloan again, the Jehovah witness, and me and elder Hasson went to the appointment with a game plan this time to teach him a lesson. So I explained to Sloan that what we wanted to teach him a lesson about the LDS church and he could teach us a lesson about the witness' cause he was a missionary for them. But he quickly shut us down and started to bash again. We did for a little bit but then had another appointment to run too. We've decided to drop him cause he's a basher! We don't wanna waste time on someone who isn't interested, our time here is too precious to waste bashing.
Nothing too exciting happened this week EXCEPT for last for last Thursday ha. So we had a meeting in Dallas and we don't have a car so we called a member and they told us to ask his brother, we asked his brother and he agreed to take us. The next morning we get picked up at 8:30 and the meeting started at 9, so the member was kinda driving sketchy and fast. So we're on the freeway and we get into the HOV lane and in Texas most HOV lanes have the double white line along with these cones that you're not supposed to drive over but their bolted to the ground so people drive over them all the time. Our exit was coming up faster than the driver had expected and we had to cross 4 lanes of traffic but we were still in the HOV lane. So the member slowed way down to almost a complete stop and started to slowly cross the cones and right as we cross the line a BMW comes outta nowhere and crashes into the side of our car going 80mph! Then the bmw did a 360 across the freeway and hit a truck causing him to 180. Somehow amazingly no one was terribly injured, besides the bmw owner gashing his head against the top of his convertible. But both the truck and the bmw were absolutely destroyed and yet our little Ford Focus only lost the mirror, broke the tire, and messed up the back right door. I don't know how we didn't get demolished by the bmw, someone must be looking out for us ;) later that night me and elder Hasson talked about why God would let that happen to a member who was only trying to be nice and giving us a ride. D&C 82:10 "I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise." And one of the commandments is to obey the law. Hasson says that since our member driver broke the law by crossing the double white line, we lost the lords promise to protect us. I think it makes sense! I'm just happy that we're all safe and no one was hurt too bad. I guess the news teams thought it was something to report on, so we made the news! But I'm happy that I learned the important lesson of keeping all the commandments and making no exceptions! We have them for a reason, and they're there to protect us! Anyways I hope you all enjoy reading my adventures, and I hope I'll have plenty more fun things happen!
I love you all and wish you the best! Have a superb week!
