Bike problems, bike problems, & more bike problems

What's up fam bam??

Hope y'all are having a good week, I sure did!
To start things off this last week has been super good and super bad.
Super bad because my bike chain still isn't fixed. The chain I bought wasn't the right size so after I used it for around a week it stretched and no longer kept in gear. It always would slide off and I'd have a greasy gross hand the rest of the day due to me constantly yanking that thing back onto the gear. So the majority of the week we walked everywhere & that's where the good things happened! We decided since our investigator pool is small and shrinking that we'd spend days strictly finding. That means knocking on a lotta doors, getting a lot of those doors slammed on ya, and getting kicked out of an apartment complex or 4. It was awesome! :D. Throughout the week we found 10 new investigators! Never in my life would I have thought that woulda happened. On Saturday we spent an hour at a BK Lounge (Burger King) and made phone calls to those new investigators and invited them to church again and made sure they had the address and correct time.  So Sunday comes around and you'll never guess how many of them came... Zero -_-.... Not so awesome :'(. But we're not giving up on them, gonna re-visit them this week and chastise them. Haha jk, but for real we're gonna see them again and try to get members involved this time around.

Friday was the highlight of the week for me! To start the day off we had Elder Lynn G. Robbins of the presidency of the seventy come to the mission. He's a walking encyclopedia of gospel topics. You'd ask a question and he'd answer with scripture references and GC talks without even thinking about it. The main thing he taught was responsibility and agency. He wrote down a big list of things people do to avoid responsibility. Some were; lying, rebelling, covering up, shifting responsibility, excuses, and blaming. He taught how this list has destroyed people (I.e: Laman & Lemuel). Long story short I learned about how "resorting to the list" won't help any of us progress. Excuses do not equal results and and do not correct mistakes. (I.e: 1 nephi 3:13-15)
Elder David B. Haight said, "the Determined man finds a way, the Other man finds an excuse". So if there's anything you get out of this I challenge you to fully take responsibility! I can't tell you how many times in highschool a teacher wasn't clear about a due date for an assignment and I didn't take responsibility and when the due date came and my assignment wasn't finished I tried to shift the responsibility on them because I was lazy. And I would face the consequences of turning in a late assignment. We control the choices, but not the consequences. Just a small example but I'm sure y'all could think of times that's happened to you.

Lastly after the meeting Friday we had our Christmas party! It was super awesome since the entire mission was there. So I was able to see all my friends I made last year and reunite with all my MTC group!

Anyways hope y'all have a good week, stay safe and follow the spirit!
