Quick update
Sooo nothing too different happened this week unfortunately haha. So I
figured I'd just give a quick update!
On Tuesday we had some conference! It was great to see a bunch of old
friends! We received some great trainings and definitely walked away
with some things I wanted to implement on the way I work.
Then on Wednesday we went and blitzed the Mt.Pleasant sisters area.
They had basically our whole day planned out for each of us, it was
pretty impressive. Combined we taught a total of 29 lessons that day!
They sent me way out in the boonies and visited with less active
members, but in each visit we had a good lesson!
Every Thursday we go to a local food pantry that helps a ton of
people. The guy that basically owns it isn't a member but his wife is.
So missionaries have been going over there for ages. Well before
service starts they always bring out one of their preachers who share
a spiritual thought or scripture of some kind, but this last time we
asked if we could be in charge and share something! They didn't mind
so we yanked out our book of Mormons and shared Mosiah 2:17 "17 And
behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may
learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are
only in the service of your God."
They seemed to love it and we got compliments throughout the day about
how they enjoyed the scripture, had never heard it before, and how we
should share the spiritual thought more often. Hahahah little did they
know it was from the Book of Mormon. We'll inform them next time we
share a thought ha.
Then when we went to Hugo this weekend we only got to work there on
Friday cause elder hallmark got sick from a BBQ place in downtown
Hugo. He threw up 9 times Friday night so the next morning we packed
our bags and headed back down to Paris so that he could rest.
On Sunday we had a lotta people show up to church! A
less-active/disfellowshipped member we see on Sunday evenings showed
up! In my 6 months here he hasn't been to church the same week I was
in Paris so it was cool to finally see him at church the same week I'm
there!
Speaking of that, next week is transfers! Wow that went by quick! I'm
pretty sure I'll be getting transferred. There's no way they'll keep
me here for 7.5 months, that's unheard of in the TDM. I love Paris &
Hugo and wouldn't mind staying another transfer, but at the same time
I'd be okay to move and meet new people, places, and things! Whatever
the lord decided to do I'll be okay with hahha.
