Hello from the MTC (October 5,2015)
So today marks the 5th day in the MTC!
so right after i was dropped off i was escorted to my classroom and received my name badge.
we met companions and I have Elder Green from Saratoga springs Utah!
it was nice having a comp from Utah first, that way we both got along quick and didn't have to adjust. The first day we had a couple meetings and walked around to try to get to know the place. it was a complete disaster and we got lost lol! Eventually we got back to our residence halls, unpacked, and tried to get some sleep. the first night was rough getting to sleep because i stayed up so late at home. The next day we just had classes and learned how to teach people and how to learn the needs of the investigator. I've learned that teaching isn't my forte haha. I'm sure that it'll come, it just will take some practice, like I said in my mission farewell talk, I'm just gonna love the people of Dallas and the spirit will direct the lesson.
There was one time where we were teaching our teacher and they pretended to be someone and I totally froze up, maybe it was just because I knew my teacher, but tonight we have a lesson with someone me and my comp have never met before. One of our teachers told us that they were members, but when we got to the meeting where they assign you investigators, we were told that they were a mix of members and real investigators. So I think my teacher spilled the beans. But I'm just gonna go in there with the attitude that they're fake investigators, with real questions.
Having conference at the MTC is both was a blessing and a curse. it was a blessing because it was cool to have 3 new apostles be called but it sucked because we sat in the most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat it. FOR 12 HOURS TOTAL.
So I got my flight plans and I learned I leave at 3:30 am next Monday! That means by about noon Utah time I'll have landed in Dallas and meeting the mission president. Check the Facebook page cause I'm sure soon after that they will post the video of me, my companion Elder Green, and my district at the airport. The computers at the MTC are super restrictive so I won"t be able to send any pictures for about another week! The MTC is okay and all but I really just wanna be in Dallas. The food at the MTC is buffet style, but it's totally school cafeteria food which I haven't had in 3 years, yuck! At this point I'm just venting ;) but I want you all to have a great week!
YOU ARE LOVED
