First week in Dallas

So I wasn't able to email last week because we got here in Texas on a p-day and we were busy all day, so ill just start from where I left off!
We went on a temple walk on my first p-day, and got some cool shots of the Provo temple, then the rest of the week was pretty simple, we just had lessons all day, along with trc's and meals haha, except on Thursday I think, we had in field orientation and sat in a room for 9.5 hours and learned how to contact and find, and start conversations up, just everything really! nothing too interesting happened the rest of my stay at the mtc! so last Sunday my entire district stayed up till midnight packing EVERYTHING. our room was a disaster so we spent a lot of time sorting things out. but we had to wake up 2 hours later, so we only got 2 hours of sleep and then we went to the travel office and waited for a bus to take us to the frontrunner. we hopped on the front runner with a ton of other missionaries going all over the world and hopped off the frontrunner in slc! then got onto traxs to the airport where the entire Dallas group met up and stayed together until we left. it was nice, I got to call my parents and talk to them about 15 minutes! the plane ride was about 2.5 hours and time flew by. me, Elder Green, and Sister Howl just talked the entire time and before we knew it we were landing. the second we got off the airplane we headed to baggage claim where the mission president along with some Spanish missionaries were waiting for us. they posted a video on the Facebook page so if you wanna check that out go for it! the first day we got ipads and learned how to use them, so if you ever send me an email ill be able to read it the same day you send it, I just cant respond till pday! anyways all the elders stayed at the assistant presidents apartment, so we had about 22 missionaries sleeping in 3 different rooms and to make matters worse, the AC was out and it was like sitting in a sauna! I remember I laid there in my bed thinking "how the heck am I gonna be able to serve here?!" somehow I fell asleep.
The next morning we had transfer meeting, and holy crap, those things are weird. everyone is loud and cheering haha. I really wasn't expecting that, especially because we were in a chapel. So i met my companion, his name is Elder Hasson and is from Pennsylvania. he has been out for just over a year and is a Zone leader! haha I thought he'd be a stickler but he knows how to have fun and balance out missionary work, so we get along and get work done!
There is a sister here who lives alone but is allowed to have the missionaries over whenever. her names sister barber and she takes such good care of us! she buys us whatever we need and feeds us every day at lunch! she's the bomb. something cool here is that they have a member feed us every single night! I haven't cooked 1 meal yet for myself.
I'm in a special place, a lot of missionaries love this place. its called Allen Texas! they have an amazing high school football team that supposedly wins nationals every year. football obviously runs the town and where they play is amazing! their field cost 70 million! its like a mini college football field! you gotta google "Allen Texas football stadium" and you will be shocked, nothing even comes close to it in Utah!
We tract for at least an hour a day and haven't had too much success. everyone has either already been baptized or belong to a church. but yesterday I placed my first book of Mormon to a lady who belongs to a church but is very open to other things. so she agreed to read a little bit, and we're going back Wednesday to check up on her and teach an actual lesson! we have a small progressing investigator pool but not much to report on.
We do service every single day here. we help out at a place called ACO. I like to explain it as a D.I but with food lol. so wal-mart and target and other places donate food and people that really need help come to ACO and are able to get the food for free. a lot of it has damaged casing or some other small problem. but its never expired! what we do is stock the shelves and help where ever is needed. so its nice because they let us take how ever much food we want home, so there's no need to buy groceries! all the food at my apartment is from ACO haha!
but this area is a biking area so i have to wear a helmet, and i look like such a nerd hah! but anyways have a good week everyone! I miss you all!

IMPORTANT: check the blog for pictures, my mom will be updating it every week!!!
