Howdy Ho!
This week has been pretty fantastic!
So to catch y'all up the TDM is doing a Easter innovative, our goal is
to baptize as many people on April 15th so that they receive the gift
of the Holy Ghost on Easter morning, the next day! It's very similar
to what we did in December. Our goal as a mission is to get 200
baptisms total in the month of April, it'll be great!
The week has been full of miracles, were seriously so blessed up here
in Paris & Hugo. Long, long, long story short we worked our butts off
this week and committed 7 people to be baptized on April 15th! It was
the coolest thing! We were bold with people and taught them "both
sides of the sword". Which means we teach the promised blessings of
the gospel but we also teach the consequences if people continue to
sin or don't want to change. I like it a lot cause lets be honest life
isn't all Sunshine & Rainbows. The same thing applies to the gospel!
There's a ton of joy and happiness that comes when we embrace the
gospel but at the same time there's a ton of pain and sorrow that
comes when we don't accept it. We see the prophets in the scriptures
teach this over and over again.
2 Nephi 4:4;
4 For the Lord God hath said that: Inasmuch as ye shall keep my
commandments ye shall prosper in the land; and inasmuch as ye will not
keep my commandments ye shall be cut off from my presence.
It's that simple! We have to acknowledge the dark side of things if
we're going to embrace the light side. Otherwise there'd be no reason
to change. Investigators have to understand this!
Also last week we went into Dallas Monday to spend our Pday there and
go to the temple the next day. But Monday night we went to one of the
largest apartment complexes in Dallas and set up a screen and
projector in the parking lot to share Mormon Messages with people as
they were walking by! It was a lot of fun contacting everyone &
chasing people down to tell them about it and to come check it out. We
ended up teaching a guy the restoration and said he'd come to church
and that he'd like missionaries to come by again to teach him some
more! All in all it was a great trip to Dallas! We also had interviews
on Tuesday with President Taylor, it's a bummer he goes home soon!
Anyways I hope all y'all are doing good! Let me know if theirs
something I can do for you!Elder Hyatt
