Sah friends!
Howdy friends and family!!!
Overall I can say that this has been a pretty good week! :)
To start things off last Monday we got to teach a young girl named Allyson! She's the one who's taking the lessons by herself (her boyfriends a member but she doesn't want any outside influence). So we taught her Gospel of Jesus Christ and it went super well! We explained it like how the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Holy Ghost, Enjoying to the end) creates a wall around us protecting us from Satan's "fiery darts". Every now and then Satan will bust thru our "wall" but that's what repentance and enduring till the end are for! She really enjoyed the lesson and we extended the invitation to be baptized! She felt like she needed to work on the whole repentance thing before she got baptized but she wasn't opposed to it. Only problem is her parents aren't fans at ALL. From what we understand her parents aren't big Christians anyways and so they probably won't let her get baptized anytime soon. But that doesn't mean we're gonna stop visiting her. Another thing is her old church isn't supportive at all that she's thinking about joining the church. This past Sunday she went to her old church after our stake conference and received a ton of negative comments from her "friends" who helped her find Christ in the first place. She thought that was very hypocritical of them.
My companion and I have tried our best to get to know all the contacts in our phone and area book, slowly but surely we're making ground and finally know all our investigators! We've made a lot of progress in the 3 weeks we've been here and we feel like we've flipped it right side up.
This past Sunday we had stake conference! It was really good! It was a little weird seeing a bunch of people from the Plano 9th ward! I served there a year ago and had some sweet reunions with some members I use to serve around!
There's was a great talk about finding truth! A lot of our investigators needed to hear that. He said a couple things that I really enjoyed. One thing he said was "While using the internet, if you seek for things to destroy your testimony, you'll find it. If you seek for thing that will grow your testimony, you'll find it." How true is that?! Ridiculously true haha.
I've been listening to talks every morning as I get ready for the day and 2 lately have especially caught my ear! Both by elder Holland, cause no matter what he speaks on it's always
Here's the links;
I invite you to listen to these talks and ponder the things you hear. It just make ssooooo much sense we have a modern day prophet and apostles! As well as another Witness of Jesus Christ called the Book of Mormon. Love all you guys! Let me know what I can Do for y'all!
