Aye!
Monday: we got a ride to Carrollton, which is about 30 minutes from Plano, to have Pday. Did the normal pday things then we got a ride back to Plano from a RM who just got back from his mission. He's still getting use to driving in Dallas so we took a couple wrong exits and we're late to getting home. Both our appointments canceled anyways so it turned into a night of finding with no luck,
Tuesday: It was also a kind of slow day on Tuesday. We did a ton of finding in the middle of the day (which is the worst time to do it) and didn't have much luck. We had a couple lessons in the evening and they went pretty well! We also had dinner with a part member family who we may start teaching soon, so that's was a highlight!
Wednesday: We had another lesson with our Muslim investigator, Zeki. He did all his homework we gave him and he learned a ton. He really enjoyed Mormon.org and also was doing research on Thomas S. Monson. He's been reading the Book of Mormon in Turkish and is enjoying it. We taught him the plan of salvation and he grasped onto the concept really well! He had really good questions which we answered. He said everything made sense. We then invited him to be baptized to which he declined for right now :( he wants to learn a bit more and attend church, which makes sense. But we feel he has real potential in the near future!
Thursday: We had Zone conference!!! It was the first mission meeting that I've been in since coming back from east Texas. I forgot how big the north Dallas zones are so there were a ton of people compared to what a zone has out east. We learned a ton of things but my favorite thing I walked away with was about finding the 1. There's someone somewhere being prepared for the restored gospel each day. We just gotta do our job in finding them. We find through the spirit which is why it's crucial missionaries have the spirit. It was a good refresher for me! We finished Thursday by teaching 2 recent converts. Pete and Sophia. Sophia's mom isn't a member but is Pete's wife's best friend. So she was totally fine letting her 11 year old daughter get baptized. Now the focus is on her and it's funny cause now her 11 year old (Sophia) is pressing it on herπ. For example in our lesson we were teaching the restoration and Sophia raises her hand to ask a question. She asked "how soon can you baptize for the dead after someone dies?" Then immediately Sophia's mom spoke up and says "oh stop Sophia, I'm gonna get baptized before I die!" We thought it was pretty funny this 11 year old asked us such a passive aggressive question. Anyways at the end of the lesson we invited Sophia's mom to be baptized and she said she would but just didn't know when. We threw a couple dates at her but she had something big going on each date. She said she felt she needed to do more repenting before she got baptized. She promised to read the Book of Mormon with Sophia each day and come to church to speed up her repentance process. We feel she will come around soon!
Friday: The highlight of the week was Friday! We volunteered at the 2017 Plano Balloon Festival. It was super fun, we got to set up the gates where people walk through and then we ran into a random member of the church who was in charge of the hot air balloon launch field. He let us work security on the launch field, so basically we made sure no one tried sneaking on. We were right there next to the hot air balloons, I can't remember ever seeing one that close so it was a cool experience. At the end of the night they did this thing called a "glow". They had the hot air balloons tied to the ground but each pilot would turn their flamethrower burner on and their whole balloon would glow. It was pretty cool seeing all these balloons light up like fire flies! I'll attach some photos!
Saturday/Sunday: nothing too big happened these to daysπ
but we found some new investigators for some of the sisters in our zone. One of which was a super solid 18 year old girl who's Muslim but thinking about becoming Christian.
Anyways that was my week, I had fun! We got MLC this week so that should be fun too. Hope you all have a blessed week!
