Day by day update
Monday: We had P-Day! Super fun, the big thing the Zone plays is soccer (which I use to hate) but after playing it a little bit I'm starting to enjoy it!
Afterwords we had a lesson with a part-member family, but we quickly realized that our list must have been bad because everyone was very much members. So we shared a quick message and got out
Tuesday: We had a great District meeting, we talked about how to find new investigators and about conversion. We had 3 lessons planned for Tuesday. The first lesson was another part-member family lesson. The guy that isn't a member told us he believes in baptism by immersion and that baptism by sprinkling was false, but when asked how he was baptized he said he was sprinkled on and told us he was content with that...contradicted himself but it's all goodπ. Also found 3 new investigators, one of which use to be a Jehovah Witness! I did my 3rd baptismal interview this week for a companionship in my zone! The zone is on π₯π₯ π₯
Wednesday: We had an AWESOME lesson with a guy named Zeki. He's from turkey and now lives here in Plano with his son's family. He use to be a doctor in turkey and is currently studying to become one here. Well in a Turkey everyone's Muslim so he grew up with that influence and with no Christian background. So we taught the heck outta him the restoration and everything Christian. We had to teach very simply. But he totally grasped onto the idea of modern day prophets and apostles! As we ended our lesson we downloaded gospel library onto his phone so he can read the BOM in Turkish until the one we ordered him gets here! Super guy
Thursday: We did some service in the morning, we calked a house so that it can be painted on Saturday. Then we weekly planned and had a lot of success confirming appointments. Weekly planning has become a personal favorite of mine cause there's nothing better to see than appointments throughout the week. Huge stress relief. Taught some lessons in the afternoon to a less active member and also a person who had their named removed from the records but wants to rejoin.
Friday: We had an exchange with the Chinese Elders. I went out with a Elder Li, he's from Beijing China! His English is pretty good. We did about 6 hours of finding. Meaning talking with everyone, visiting dropped investigators, potentials, etc. It's TDM culture to do this thing where if you go to visit a person and their not home then you knock the 5 surrounding houses. Because we're in that area for a reason and sometimes it's not always for the person we wrote down to see. We find A LOT of our investigators doing this. Found 4 new investigators!
Saturday: man Saturday was super slow, we had 5 appointments fall through. So a little discouraging but in a way that's okay because it helps us focus on the elect who are prepared rather than those who aren't interested but are too nice to refuse a return appointment. So nothing too big to report this day.
Sunday: its always interesting going to 3 ward councils, 3 Sacraments, and other gospel classes....we go to church probably about 9 hours on Sunday. It's insane! 3 hours is NOTHING. We had quite a bit of investigators show up to church, that's always good! We also got a dope referral from some sisters just north of us in Allen. A couple walked into their church and said they wanted to learn about the church, but they live in our area so we get to teach them! Hopefully something happens with them! Also on Sunday Elder Hinton and I split, i went with our assistant ward mission leader, who's only been a member for maybe 2 months. He wants to be put to work so we'll be sure to.
I haven't done one of these "day by day" emails in a long time, some people like them so hopefully it was alright! Life is good and I'm enjoying my time out here in Plano more than I thought i would!
Next week marks a year since i left to come back out and also i hit my 15th month mark. Which basically means i have 9 months left, aka I'm a pregnancy away from seeing y'all again! Hahah anyways i hope y'all had as great of a week as I did, keep happy, and keep fighting the good fight! The church is true, the books are blue, and Moroni is always on the ball!
