Hello Friends!!!
The weeks are cramming all together, time is just flying by!
I'll keep this one short and sweet.
The highlight was probably interviews. Personally had a really great interview with President Dalton. We talked about how trainings going, how and why I decided to serve a mission, and how I can step it up these next couple months. Overall really good!
We had transfers this past week. Elder Taylor and I are still companions and we're still assigned to labor in Durant, Oklahoma.
Speaking of Durant on Saturday the Bishop texted us asking if we would give talks on Sunday! I use to absolutely hate speaking in public but the more I force myself to do something the easier and easier it becomes. We spoke on how having the gospel in our lives has helped us to share it with others. Took a whole 13 minutes which is probably about double what my farewell talk was 2 years ago hahha.
As far as the work goes nothing too new.
The coolest thing that happened was we found a lady named Susan a couple weeks ago and we finally got around to dropping by her again and follow on how she was doing. The majority of the restoration was taught on her doorstep and when we handed her the Book of Mormon she felt the spirit super strong and said "I can feel the power that's in the Book!" So hopefully she acted upon that power and opened that bad boi up to read from it. We'll see her later this week to follow up! There is definitely a power in the Book of Mormon. It is after all, the word of God. Sister Taylor use to say that any question you have can be answered in the Book of Mormon. Time and time again that promise has become true. Many of life's questions are in there you just gotta look. To find out if the book is true is verrrrry simple. All it takes a sincere, open minded study of the Book of Mormon and any and all doubts fly out the window. It truly is the keystone of our religion. The quote Elder Holland; "for [187] years this book has been examined and attacked, denied and deconstructed, targeted and torn apart like perhaps no other book in modern religious history--perhaps like no other book in any religious history. And still it stands. Failed theories about its origins have been born and parroted and have died--from Ethan Smith to Solomon Spaulding to deranged paranoid to cunning genius. None of these frankly pathetic answers for this book has ever withstood examination because there is no other answer than the one Joseph gave as its young unlearned translator"
Love you all!!! Have a great week!
Elder Hyatt
