Up's and Down's

Hellllo friends and family!!!

This has been a pretty unusual week here in Durant.

First and foremost my trainee, Elder Taylor went home this past Friday. 

He had some things he wanted to work through and that's totally fine! 

He'll be back in 6 months! #BeenThereDoneThat

So I'm still in Oklahoma. There was a trio in the mission so President Dalton assigned one of them to be my new companion. His name is Elder Larson and he's from St.Anthony Idaho. He's a cowboy so he feels right at home here in Durant. 

Some highlights this week was I got to interview a lady named Christi for baptism!!! She's being taught by our sisters in Sherman and has been for about a month now. 

I've interviewed a pretty good deal of people in my time as a missionary but she's been probably one of the most prepared people I've ever met. And it all started because her boss at work is a Mormon and she was able to answer some questions she had about the plan of salvation. Christi said over and over again just how everything makes so much sense. the restoration, apostasy, prophets, the book of Mormon, etc. It was a delight to meet someone so prepared! She passed and will be entering the waters up baptism this Saturday!

After that interview we drove further south and worked in the Melissa sisters area for a couple hours. There's this guy named Dan that the sisters get a creepy vibe from. They always talk about him and some of the interesting things he's done around them (one time he took a photo of them and then made it his FB profile pic, hahah) so they thought it'd be productive to see how he would react with Elders. We met him and taught him and the guy actually has so much potential!!! So we counseled the sisters to ignore some of the interesting things he does and to teach him.

Lastly this week we have MLC and zone conference. Elder Pearson of the Seventy will be there!!! He came to the mission almost a year ago with Elder Anderson. He kinda reminds me a little of like a mini Elder Holland because when he was here with Elder Anderson he threw down so hard about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. Church is true, that's all I can say haha. So super excited about that!

December is almost here, which is crazy to think about. I'm not keeping track of time but I hit my 17th month mark this week. So better make the most of what I can! After this transfer I only have 4 more transfers to go so keep me in your prayers haha!
