Miracles Have Not Ceased

I will do my best to make this short but Holy Lanta this has been a great week in Sherman Texas!
Miracle 1) About 3 weeks ago we got a Bible referral to the Heineken Family. We showed up and taught them about the Book of Mormon and they ended up coming to church and really enjoyed it. Fast forward to last Monday and we taught them the plan of salvation. The spirit was super strong and we invited them to be baptized. They accepted for April 7th! They’re awesome!

Miracle 2) We are teaching a members boyfriend named Dustin. 2 weeks ago he didn’t believe in God, nor a life after death. We’ve taught him the plan of salvation and the restoration but things just hadn’t clicked for him quite well to much. This past week he was reading and he said he started to feel something and he liked how he felt when we came by. Well we had a baptism this past Saturday so we invited him to attend and then it happened. The spirit hit him like a brick wall! He was so happy! He told his fellow shipper that he felt something as we watched our investigators named Nicole get baptized. He is now on date to be baptized March 24th!
Miracle 3) We don't knock doors in the TDM but a couple weeks ago we heard a guy going ham on some bagpipes. We knocked his door and he wasn’t interested so we asked him if he knew anyone who needed a message. He pointed us to his neighbor. His neighbor wasn't interested so we asked her who she knew that might need a message and she pointed us to her neighbor Laurie. We knocked Laurie’s door and she was super friendly and wanted to have us come by and share messages.. well that was a couple weeks ago but this past week we made some huge progress. We were on splits with members so it was just me teaching the restoration. I felt impressed to let the member I was with to read Joseph Smiths account of the first vision. As the member was reading it the spirit literally dumped out onto us! The 10 year old Luke was probably the most effected haha. His mouth dropped open and asked “What am I feeling right now!?” I told him it was the spirit (Holy Ghost) confirming to him that what we were teaching him was true. He said “I just feel so at peace right now, I feel so loved!!!” The rest of the lesson he sat back into his chair eyes closed, mouth wide open just stunned! He had never felt the spirit before. It was such a testimony builder to me to see the spirit work with people!

Miracle 4) We were sitting with our investigators during sacrament meeting and after the service had ended our Bishop motioned me to come over to him with his finger. Standing next to him was a young guy. Bishop Langton said “This young mans name is Dawson, he just moved here from Oklahoma and he wants to be taught the missionary lessons and baptized.”.....That’s something that missionaries joke about, so needless to say I was a little bit speechless haha. We set a return appointment with him this coming Thursday!

Miracle 5) I’ve talked about our investigator Sean a couple of times. Met him the first time on Christmas and he said he was Atheist/Agnostic. Well its been 2 months and he has made so much progress. On Thursday we went over and built him a fence for some horses that he was getting on Sunday. (Bet you didn’t know I knew how to build a fence huh dad 😂). Anyways we built about 560 feet of fence to make a good size pasture. He was super grateful because he wouldn’t have been able to get it done with us. It was a lot of fun! Afterwards we shared a short message with him and he talked about how he is still learning how to wrestle with the spirit. He told us to come back Sunday. So Sunday came and we had planned to teach him the Gospel of Jesus Christ but right as the lesson started he asked the churches stance on LGBTQ 🏳️‍🌈. We explained to him that we love those people even if we don’t agree with their choice and we read “The Family: A Proclamation To The World” and loved everything he read! That whole conversation somehow lead right into what we wanted to discuss, sorta. I asked him if he knew the BOM was true and he said he knows it is. So we asked him if he knew what the next step was and he said yes! So we committed him to be baptized on either March 24th or April 7th! He is praying about which date and will let us know Wednesday!!!!

I know this was long so I’ll end it but the Church is so ridiculously true! I’ve had experiences throughout my mission that are no doubt God given! So no matter the worlds view, or lack of evidence, or anything on early church history, it doesn’t matter to me to not have the full picture. What’s important is God has given me answer after answer, witness after witness that this is His work and it is true. So when a preacher tries to anti or talks about some half true/out of context church history subject it doesn’t have any effect on me. If your testimony is struggling right now that's okay! But don’t ever give up, keep reading, keep praying, keep going too church. “Precept, upon precept; line upon line; here a little, and there a little” (Isaiah 28:10) God reveals truth unto us and if we are open and ready our Heavenly Father will give us more and more truth! 2 Nephi 28:30: “for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.”
Love you all, have great weeks!!!! :)
