Spiritual Growth
Howdy Everyone!
Hope things back in Utah, or wherever you may be reading this, are
doing alright!
The weeks are finally seeming to be shorter and shorter, but it helps
that we keep busy. Tomorrow is transfers so I'll see if I'm gonna stay
in Plano/Carrolton tonight! You never really know who could go where,
but our guess is that since Elder Chancellor is going home they'll
keep me and Elder Thomas here.
Anyways how my week went!
So I guess I must be growing because this week when we were teaching
our recent convert I felt another spiritual prompting to mention a
Patriarchal blessing, this time I did! It payed off because he's
really interested in getting his and said he'll do a lot of research
about it and pray to ask when he's ready to get his! It may not be the
biggest or coolest story but It meant a lot to me since I'm finally
starting to learn how to listen to the spirit in lessons.
In example; whenever we visit a members home, or go to a bible
referral, we do what we call "compass 5" basically what that is, is we
knock the 5 doors around the house we are in the area for. The other
day we went to drop off a book at a possible investigators house and
the Elders have gone by a lot previously and taught lessons on the
door step a couple times since there never is a male home. Anyways the
doors around this potential have probably been compass fives a hundred
times. But anyways we went over the other day to see how she's doing
and when we were leaving I thought I felt a prompting to knock on a
door as we passed it so I immediately knocked it, meanwhile my
companions look back towards me having no idea when I knocked it. We
stood there for 10 seconds and that's when Elder Chancellor remembered
they had knocked that exact door before and the guy that lived there
was SUPER anti. Needless to say we booked it outta there before he
answered. I told President Taylor the experience and he said sometime
we get promptings just to see if we listen and go through with them as
sorta a test. So when the "real" prompting comes, God knows we'll
listen.
Anyways sorry for the novel, just thought I'd share that!
Have a good week and may God be with ya'll!
:D
