Rockwall and Royce City
Hey how's it going everybody?!
Sorry I didn't send out a weekly email, we had a crazy p-day and today
seems like it's gonna be similar so forgive me if this is shorter.
But anyways things here in Rockwall and Royse city are going pretty
good! The work is a lot harder in Rockwall, the people aren't as open
so we have tons of success in Royse city. In fact our investigator
Emmelyn is getting baptized this Saturday! Ahh we're so excited for
her, she's super prepared!
So like I just said the work in Rockwall is tough. In fact they
haven't had a convert baptism in over a year. So there's a family who
have an unbaptized 9 year old that we seemed to never be able to catch
at the right time and we tried for like 2 weeks almost every day to
stop by and they never seemed to be home. Finally we stopped by at the
most random time of day and were able to speak to the family and share
a message! We talked about their unbaptized child and they said they'd
be totally cool with us coming and teaching him to prepare for
baptism! So we set the 21st of this month as the date. So that means
we'll have the first convert baptism in Rockwall in over a year!
That's super exciting but what's more exciting is being able to teach
this family and see them come to church each week. It's gonna bring
the whole family closer and that's really our end goals. Our success
is measured on our commitment to be out here doing all we can to
spread to good word, not how many baptism we get.
Short story: we had some spare time before dinner so we drove to a
random street and stared knocking doors. I got to use my sketchy
Spanish, so that was cool. But anyways we decided to knock one last
house before we left and this guy comes out and seemed more than happy
to speak with us...which most of the time is a sign they're gonna
bash..and he bashed lol. So he claimed to be an ex Mormon but when we
asked him simple questions about our faith he didn't know what he was
talking about. He then proceeded to tell us about how every verse in
the bible is divisible by 7? And it's not like that in the Book of
Mormon which means the Book of Mormon can't be scripture according to
him. He finished his rant by inviting us (lol, hey we do the invites
man!) to "denounce the heresy that is the Mormon church." Hahaha we
just testified and left, there's no point in batting scriptures with
people. There's so much opposition that faces us which only builds my
own testimony. Think about it for a second, if this was a false church
then why would Satan have so many people against it? That goes against
how Satan does his work. When something is of good report you can
guarantee Satan will be there doing all he can to tear it down. People
can be tools in Satan's hands just as much as we can be tools in gods
hands! We gotta choose this day who's "team" we're on. And if it's not
gods team it's Satan's, there's no middle ground. It's kinda like if
the U of U were to represent "gods team" and BYU were to represent
"Satan's team". No duh "gods team" is gonna win (#7YearsInaRow). Haha
sorry to all those I just upset. At this point I'm rambling, but I
just want all y'all to realize that we gotta be the tools in the right
persons hands, gods hands.
Anyways hope y'all are doing great! I love hearing from you each week!
P.S I forgot to mention it snowed the other day! It was so random, but
sweet to see snow finally! :)
