Many Mighty Miracles

Howdy y'all, it's been pretty good!
So in short this week has been full of many mighty miracles.
To start out, our two most progressing investigators Pedro and Derek
still have their baptisms set for this Saturday! I don't know why but
no matter how solid a baptismal candidate is I get so nervous and have
a little fear up until we actually get to the baptismal day! Guess I
outta replace that fear with more faith! But me and Elder Haddock are
both praying super super hard that these two continue to progress and
enter into their first covenant, baptism! This Saturday, I'll probably
post a photo or two you can check on Facebook 😄.
So throughout the whole time I've been here there's been a family
we've been fixin' to meet but we could never pin down a time to drop
by. Well outta the blue we get a call from the husband, his names
Larry. Larry called us and told us he wanted to get back into church
and he wanted to meet with the bishop immediately to start fixing his
life. Well this past Sunday we FINALLY got to meet him in person. We
were excited that he was back on the right path. Well about halfway
through sacrament meeting him and his daughters started getting really
loud. Almost like he was purposely trying to talk over the speaker, we
thought that was kinda weird but shrugged it off. Then we got to teach
gospel principles, and he constantly cut me off and I barely got a
word in the lesson. Same with elder haddock. We had investigators
there and some things he said weren't exactly doctrinally sound, so we
tried our best to recover. Well finally we get to elder quorum and the
subject was on Gordon B Hinkleys teachings of presidents, "Daughters of
God". Long story short Larry said some extremely vulgar comments about
the male and female anatomy that was 100% not church appropriate. The
teacher had to nearly yell to get him to stop talking about it. I
could barely believe myself. I had never felt the spirit leave so
quickly in church. I was honestly so mad because we had a couple
investigators who were there and probably couldn't believe themselves
either. He was sitting behind us and I was so upset I decided to turn
around with the intent to give him the death glare of the century. I wanted
him to know what  he had said was absolutely not right. But when I started to
turn around the thought popped into my head "look at him how I see him". I didn't
physically look long, not more than 1 or 2 seconds. but it felt like me and him starred
at each other for a good minute. He had tear filled eyes & I immediately saw he
was a son of God who was trying his best to recover from the many mistakes in his life,
I saw someone who just wanted a little recognition from his priesthood brethren, I saw
someone who was going through a lot more than I EVER have, I saw
someone who took a major leap of faith coming to church despite what
other thought of him, I saw someone who was doing the best he can to
repent and fix his marriage, I saw someone who really just needed some
good friends, some people to love him for who he is. For a split second I saw Larry
how the savior sees him. I turned back straight in my seat and repented of my selfishness. I
wasn't upset at him anymore, I was happy he was here at church trying
to make himself a better person. I was happy he knew that church could
help him get his life straight. I was happy to see a repenting soul.
My entire view on him changed from being upset to loving him. Too many
times in life we judge people for their outside appearances or their
past. We don't know their hearts, but Christ does. And we should all
make the extra effort to see other the way God and Jesus Christ see
people. If you haven't had the chance to watch conference yet I would suggest you start with
 this talk from President Eyering: "Walk With Me" here's the link;
 https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2017/04/walk-with-me?lang=eng
In it President Eyering shares a similar experience  with a man who he was planning
on chastising haha. I know with complete surety that God let me see Larry like that to teach me
a lesson and lesson learned might I add! My invitation to all y'all is to this week see people
how God see's them. Don't be too quick to assumption and be patient with everyone no matter
who you come in contact with this week!
I love y'all and hope and pray you stay safe and happy!

Love Elder Hyatt :)

Finally killed the mouse that was pooping in our kitchen.

HUGE storm hit us last week. Almost a tornado😁
clouds were super close to the ground

Our car made these ruts. Got stuck and had to
push it outta the mud, stinking soft Texas ground

Got a bloody nose after pushing the car outta the mud.
Don't mind the flowers.

Me and elder Haddock decided to take a quick selfie sesh.
