Tender Mercies
Howdy!
This has been a pretty awesome week!
So to sum it all up, Nick the guy that had to be interviewed by a
member of the mission presidency, has to wait to hear back from
President Taylor to see if he can be baptized soon. Otherwise he will
have to wait until after his trial :( but he has a desire to join the
church and says he can wait if he has too!
Well if any of y'all remember the guy I talked about a couple weeks
ago who was making the inappropriate comments at church, his names
Larry. He's still coming to church but he's started to bring his wife
and best friend, who aren't members! His wife use to be salty towards
the missionaries but she's experienced a mighty change of heart and
has been taking the lessons. Larry's friend Allen is also taking the
lessons and already told us he believes in the Book of Mormon and
knows it to be true! His only set back is a minor word of wisdom issue
that were fixin to help him with.
The best miracle this week is we went and visited an investigator
who's name is Mary Phifer. She's been talking with the missionaries
for about 8 months. Well we've invited her to be baptized numerous
times and she declined each time. She's read the whole Book of Mormon
and has a few chapters of doctrine and covenants left so we were
confused as to why she hasn't gotten her confirmation from the Holy
Ghost yet. She goes to a doctor for severe back pain and every time
she goes the nurses fill out a chart with some info on it. One of the
questions asks what church you belong to. In the past she's always
said "Baptist" but this past week when she was asked the same question
she replied "Mormon". She said that the second she verbally said that
she felt the spirit swoop in and confirm to her the truthfulness of
everything we've been teaching her and also about the Book of Mormon.
So she accepted a baptismal date for the 2nd of June! We're super
excited for her!
Yesterday was awesome, I was able to skype my family for a little bit
and see how they were doing. It sounds like things are the same and
that I'm not missing out on anything really! I totally forgot to post
on Facebook a Mother's Day post, but I know my mom knows I love her
and am forever indebted for everything she's done for me! I have the
best mom in the world! Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day, if you
didn't do anything for your mom yesterday that's okay cause you can
repent and go do something right now for her!
